Reading is more than just words. It’s how your brain makes sense of text—fluency, comprehension, and even how the eyes move all play a role.
I’ve seen so many children, teens, and adults quietly struggle with reading—often overlooked by traditional screenings. That’s why I created the Reading Symptoms Checklist: a simple way to see what’s really happening.
The checklist helps you notice:
✅ Struggles with reading fluency and tracking ✅ Signs of eye or visual strain ✅ Comprehension and focus challenges
Which checklist fits?
Pre-Reader – Just starting to read (typically Pre-K–K)
Emerging Reader – Learning to read/write (typically grades 1–3)
Reader – Reads independently but struggles (typically grade 4+)
Independent Reader – Teens/adults completing it themselves
💡 Tip: Focus on current abilities, not age or grade.
Even small differences in how the eyes move can make reading feel harder than it needs to be. This checklist helps you see reading challenges clearly, specifically how the eyes track text, and where support could make a difference.
